Bike Driving License Punjab. Full Guide for New Riders
Motorcycle riders across Punjab are facing strict checking, new fines, and digital verification through DLIMS 2.0. Traffic police are stopping motorcycles daily, and riders without a valid license, helmet, or proper number plate receive challans immediately.
Because of this, thousands of riders now want to apply for a bike driving license, understand the learner to regular license process, learn about fees, sign test, road rules, and how to avoid fines.
This guide covers everything you need as a normal rider in Punjab, from a learner license to physical test, sign test questions, licence rules, helmets, number plates, and mistakes that cause challans.
Why You Need a Motorcycle License in Punjab
A bike driving license is not only a legal requirement, but also proof that you understand the basic rules of riding.
Punjab Police have enabled instant verification:
As soon as a traffic warden enters your CNIC, DLIMS 2.0 shows:
- Your license status
- Expiry
- Category
- Violations
- E-challans
- Linked vehicles
So driving without a licence almost always results in a challan or bike impounding.
Punjab has also increased fines for:
- No helmet
- No license
- Wrong number plate
- Illegal modification
- Triple riding
- Under-age riding

When You Can Apply for the Regular License

There is no strict number of days written officially, but riders usually apply:
1. After 30 to 60 days of practice
2. While learner license is still valid
If your learner license expires, you cannot take the test and must apply for a new learner license again.
How to Apply for Regular Bike License (DLIMS Online)
Step 1: Online Application
Step 2: Physical Visit for Tests
You must visit the driving license centre physically. A bike license cannot be issued entirely online for first-time applicants.
You will take two tests:
Sign Test (Road Signs Test)
Before your riding test, you must pass a 10-question sign test.
It is taken on a tablet or computer screen.
You must answer the questions correctly to move forward.
Passing marks vary by centre but normally 7/10 correct is safe.
